Women's rights in agriculture and their access to land are an urgent topic that requires attention and support. In Tajikistan, women are the main participants in agriculture, however, they often do not have equal rights and opportunities compared to men.

PO "Bonuvoni Fardo" of Khatlon region held a round table in Sadriddinov jamoat of Shahritus district on August 14, 2024 within the framework of the project "Women's rights in agriculture and their access to land", which was supported and funded by the American Embassy in Tajikistan.

At the round table, women learned about equal opportunities in education and vocational training, protection from discrimination based on gender, social guarantees, access to financial and technical resources, participation in decision-making and management processes in agriculture.

The participants also discussed that women have the right to own and manage land resources, as well as to protect their rights and interests under the law. Women must also be protected from violence and exploitation in agriculture.

The participants received contracts that should be applied in agriculture and issued in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Tajikistan, and also talked about preparing a petition on behalf of rural women to the district leadership.
