Agriculture is a vital sector for economic development and ensuring food security in the Republic of Tajikistan. However, to realize the sector's full potential, attention must be given to gender equality.

In the Republic of Tajikistan, women play an important role in agriculture. They make up a significant part of the workforce, performing various functions ranging from sowing and tending crops to harvesting. However, despite their importance, women often face restrictions in access to land, credit, training and other resources, which limit their opportunities in agriculture.

Achieving gender equality in agriculture requires a comprehensive approach. It is important to provide women with equal access to land and other resources, as well as access to education and training in agriculture. Supporting women farmers through training programs also plays a key role in strengthening their economic position.

Public organization "Bonuvoni Fardo" continues to work with rural women in the remote border areas of Shahritus, Nosiri Khusrav and Qubodiyon and holds information meetings on issues of gender equality, non-discrimination and women’s access to land. Our organization provides women with legal advice and lobbies for their rights to state registration of the right to use land and property.

This initiative is part of the Women's Access to Land project, funded by the feminist foundation Mama Cash.

We encourage everyone to continue to work towards achieving gender equality and creating a fair and equal society for all.
