Land and the right to use a land plot with the right to alienation is a special object of civil legal relations and may be the subject of sale, donation, exchange, lease, pledge and other transactions, and may also be transferred to another person in the order inheritance or universal succession.
But these legal relations are not always familiar and understandable to farmers and rural women from remote villages of the Republic of Tajikistan.

Public organization "Bonuvoni fardo" together with DAI GLOBAL/USAID within the framework of the Agriculture and Land Management Project, throughout the year hold focus-groups on various land use issues in Shahritus and Nosiri Khusrav districts. Focus-groups identify the problems and needs of rural farmers on land legislation, the activities of dekhkan farms, taxation, the procedure for obtaining a land plot and its certificate, both in household plots and on the lands of dekhkan farms, issues of land lease, water use and inheritance. Having identified problems, they find ways to solve them through round tables, with the participation of lawyers and local land authorities. The established legal aid centers also provide legal advice, help farmers in the two districts with paperwork, and accompany them on their way until they receive a Certificate of state registration of land use rights.

To date, with the help of lawyers from legal aid centers and a network of tashabbuskors of the PO “Bonuvoni fardo”, for 11 months of work in Shahritus and Nosiri Khusrav districts, 338 people have received certificates of state registration of land use rights, of which 119 are women, 219 are men.
